The grumbles and frustrations among the majority of students is about to burst like Tsunami that recently hit Japan. Two weeks has passed since KU has been padlocked by few politically motivated students (which can be counted in fingers) and triggered by "non-visionary and short sighted" officials of KU Election Committee, the possibility of re-opening KU is becoming hazier and hazier. More than 1700 Students pursuing their career in intermediate to Post-graduated level, especially of that final semester, are worried as the level of surety of their timely graduation is about to collapse sooner or later. निर्वाचन पछि जे होला भन्ने डर थियो, आखिर त्यही नै भयो ! नजाँनिदो रुप मा काठमाडौँ विश्वविद्यालय (केयु) मा पार्टिगत राजनिती ले जरा गाडिसकेको छ र यो झांगिने क्रम बढ्दो छ । वर्ष मा १ एक पटक केयु मा राजनितिक दल समर्थित विद्यार्थी संगठनहरुले आन्दोलन गर्ने, क्याम्पस बन्द गर्ने कुरा अब कुनै नौलो घटना रहेन । एउटा समूह ले जित्ता अर्को ले आन्दोलन गर्ने नराम्रो परिपाटि त काठमाडौँ विश्वविद्यालय मा बसि नै सकेको छ । विश्वविद्यालयलाई राजनिति मुक्त गराउनु पर्ने बेला मा, विश्वविद्यालय मा राजनितिक चलखेल बढ्दा, बन्द र आन्दोलन जस्ता घटना सामान्य बनिसकेका छन् । काठमाडौँ विश्वविद्यालय ले केयु मा राजनिति गर्न कुनै पनि राजनितिक विद्यार्थी संगठन स्विकार गरेको छैन । तर बाहिर बाहिर जति, विद्यार्थी को चुनाव भनिन्छ, त्यति नै भित्री रुप मा पार्टिहरु को चलखेल बढ्ने गरेको छ । यहाँ को चुनाव पनि ‘टियु’ मा हुने विद्यार्थी चुनाव जस्तै बनिसकेको छ, फरक यत्ति हो ‘टियु’ मा झन्डै बोकेर निर्वाचन मा ओर्लन्छन् भने, ‘केयु’ मा झन्डा लुकाएर निर्वाचन मा ओर्लन्छन् तर त्यही लुकाइएको झन्डा नै ओढेर यहाँ राजनितिक गतिविधि हुने गरेको छ ।

काठमाडौँ भ्याली क्याम्पस रजत महोत्सव तथा १९ औँ ‘केयु डे’ आज एक समारोह का बिच काठमाडौँ विश्वविद्यालय धुलिखेल मा भव्य सँग मनाइयो । काठमाडौँ विश्वविद्याल को आधार स्तम्भ भएर रहेको ‘काठमाडौँ भ्याली क्याम्पस’ को स्थापना को २५ औँ वर्ष पुगेको उपलक्ष्य मा कार्यक्रम आयोजना गरिएको हो । वर्षेनी ‘केयु डे’ मनाउँदै आएपनि, भ्याली क्याम्पस र ‘केयु डे’ एकैसाथ मनाइएको सम्भवत यो पहिलो पटक हो । सन् १९८५ मा काठमाडौँ भ्याली क्याम्पस को नाम मा स्थापना भएको क्याम्पस को बृहत स्वरुप नै आज को काठमाडौँ विश्वविद्यालय हो । ’नेतृ्त्व का लागि गुणस्तरिय शिक्षा’ अर्थात “Quality Education For Leadership” भन्ने लक्ष्य सहित २५ वर्ष पहिले काठमाडौँ भ्याली क्याम्पस को स्थापना भएको थियो । डा. सुरेशराज शर्मा, डा. भद्रमान तुलाधार, डा. सिताराम अधिकारी आदि लगायत को समूह ले तत्कालिन समय मा गुणस्तरिय शिक्षा प्रदान गर्ने हेतु ले, काठमाडौँ भ्याली क्याम्पस को स्थापना गरेका थिए । टियु को सम्बन्धन लिएर ‘इन्स्टिच्युट अफ ईन्जिनियरङ’ कै भवनबाट आफ्नो कक्षा सुरु गरेको काठमाडौँ भ्याली क्याम्पस स्थापना को ५-६ वर्ष पछि नै काठमाडौँ विश्वविद्याल

A short Nepali  Movie, ‘LUST’ by Rajan Kathet  is going to screen tomorrow (Monday, 20th December) at Kathmandu University along with Deepak Rauniyar’s movie ‘POOJA’ at 4.00pm. 'LUST', a first movie made by the students of Kathmandu University is also the winner of 'Buds Film Fiesta 2010 '. And Movie 'POOJA', is made by acclaimed movie maker Deepak Rauniyar. Program is being organized by Media Studies Group of Kathmandu University (MSGKU). Starring Manisha Bista & Pawan Jha, it’s a short (about 22 minutes) Nepali movie  and is about a  love of a ‘caption cook’ and a ‘beautiful lady’ who worked in same office. They fall in love with each other. Though they love each other but their desire & perspective  were different. The years have passed and now I find myself here in Kathmandu University (KU) in front of the laptop trying to figure out why I love this place. It’s been 3 years and I still adore this place. Now, this might surprise most of you but I had no intentions to join KU in the 1st place. I had more reasons not to join this university. First, it’s really far from Kathmandu 28 KM. That’s a big number. Second, the place is relatively in the remote area deprive of facilities. To get something, you need to go to Banepa. And there were other several reasons. Software Freedom Day (SFD) is being celebrated at Kathmandu University under the canopy of Kathmandu University Open Source Community (KUOSC) on Saturday, 18 th September 2010 . Software Freedom Day (SFD) is a global event to promote and foster Free and Open Source Software (FOSS) being celebrated on 3 rd Saturday of every September. It is being coordinated by Software Freedom International globally by providing support, giveaways and a point of collaboration; however volunteer teams around the world organize the local SFD events to impact their own communities. This event used to be celebrated on a central location under the organization of FOSS Nepal community. Exams are going on. Mind became dull, so to refresh ourselves to refresh our mind we 5 (Abiral, Yogendra, Ajay, Pranav and me) have decided to go to Talu Dada today. We have enjoyed our short trip a lot. We have gone to view Tower and enjoy those wonderful scenes. Certainly, I’m loving Dhulikhel more and more.                      Talu Dada is famous place over here, it is in between Dhulikhel and Banepa. You have to walk from 28kilo or you can go on your vehicle from Dhulikhel, and Banepa as well. From view tower, you can watch a wonderful view. From tower you can see, Kathmandu, Dhulikhel, Banepa, Panauti, Nagarkot, Panchkhal and many other palces.
