What a shame that, those sites like ekantipur which called themselves as no.1 News Portal of Nepal doesn't have feed system. Ekantipur has just given link for their feed but no single feed is displayed. (Might be they are in maintenance phase of site, but where's feed ?). Specially, I've gone through Nepali News Sites, since I wished to tweet those published news in twitter from their feed. I've got very less number of feed from Nepali Website, but I'm planning to make system to crawl those breaking news and content in twitter (NewsBlogsNepal) from their sites very soon. But in blogs, blog platform like, Blogger, Word Press, Joomla, Drupal etc have already enabled feed system as Atom 1.0 or RSS 2.0, So, it has been easy to fetch their feeds .

But its nice to see standard feed of NagarikNews.com . Since, NagarikNews is hosted in Joomla, they automatically have standard feed system. Among several sites, I've got feed from few sites such as NagarikNews, NepalNews, ABC, NayaPatrika, The Himalayan Times, Telegraph Nepal, Online Khabar etc. Although I was able to get feed but result was not satisfactory. Very less number of websites have enabled feed and among them very very less number of sites have standard feed. And interestingly no any-problem has been seen in feeds of Blogs.
Now I suggest those websites to enable their feed in standard format so one can read news in their browser, in their desktop, in google reader, in feed reader etc. If they will enable their standard feed then, user like me really benefit from it. We have no time to surf every news portal for news, we wish to read news and articles right in our desktop, in our feed reader etc. Hence, its necessary to have standard feed system of each websites.
What is RSS Feed?
RSS (most commonly expanded as "Really Simple Syndication") is a family of web feed formats used to publish frequently updated worksтАФsuch as blog entries, news headlines, audio, and videoтАФin a standardized format. An RSS document (which is called a "feed", "web feed", or "channel") includes full or summarized text, plus metadata such as publishing dates and authorship. Web feeds benefit publishers by letting them syndicate content automatically. They benefit readers who want to subscribe to timely updates from favored websites or to aggregate feeds from many sites into one place. RSS feeds can be read using software called an "RSS reader", "feed reader", or "aggregator", which can be web-based, desktop-based, or mobile-device-based. A standardized XML file format allows the information to be published once and viewed by many different programs. The user subscribes to a feed by entering into the reader the feed's URI or by clicking an RSS icon in a web browser that initiates the subscription process. The RSS reader checks the user's subscribed feeds regularly for new work, downloads any updates that it finds, and provides a user interface to monitor and read the feeds.RSS formats are specified using XML, a generic specification for the creation of data formats.
