Highway: Nepali Movie Launches Kickstarter Campaign to Raise Money For Post Production

Nepali movie, ‘Highway’ team has launched Kickstarter campaign to raise money to pay for final edit, sound design, color correct and mix. Fundraising is new for Nepali, but very old thing for international cinema.

Highway is first of its kind Nepali film, directed by Deepak Rauniyar and co-produced by New York-based film production company Louverture Films, headed by Hollywood actor/producer Danny Glover and Joslyn Barnes. The film is special in many terms, like it's first Nepali film to be produced by a Hollywood-based company. It's first of its kind film to have an ensemble casting. It's been produced by two doctors, Dr. Sameer M Dixit and Lonim P Dixit. It's the first feature film to be directed by Rauniyar who shot to fame with his shorts like Chaukaith and Pooja.

However, what makes the film Highway even more special is the recent fundraising campaign it has launched to garner funds to complete the post-production works of the film. Highway has opened its doors and is inviting everyone (and that includes anyone) to its Kickstarter page to make funding contributions for the film. The film has set a goal to garner USD 30,000 by 7 November 2011. However, this campaign will be successful only if the specified goal amount is yielded through public funding. If the project fails to hit the 30,000 goal within the given time, the money will not go to Highway. Thus, it's the right time to think of who else would want to be a part of this - of making a great contribution to not only one film and one filmmaker, but also to Nepalese cinema.

So, as Nepali film lovers and enthusiasts, Highway is calling everyone to help fund this film. Anyone willing to donate anything above USD 1 are required to visit Highway's Kickstarter page and make donations through credit card or Paypal.

So far,Highway has raised more than 50% fund in last 10 days. They have 20 more days to go to hit the film's $30,000 goal.

Download and Install Nepali Unicode Romanised to write in Nepali all over the web. First of all, you have to Download and Run the Program on your computer. Then, you have to do some settings on your computer to use Nepali Unicode Romanized. You can download Nepali Unicode Romanized from the Madan Puraskar Pustakalaya website for free. Install Nepali Unicode Romanized in Windows XP: Install: Run setup file; Go to control Panel; Open Language and Regional settings; Open Regional Language Options; Go to Language Options & tick on check box (install files.....
