how do you feel about using # (pound) for groups. As in #barcamp [ msg ]?

Can a game or a sport bring people together? Unite them as one? Making them forget their demography in their country, their caste, their community, their religion and of course their gender. If that happens can we call that a phenomena. Especially for a country like ours, Nepal, which is torn apart with all these factors.  We witnessed this phenomena, if I can call that a phenomena, in the modest yet beautiful cricket ground at the Tribhuwan University here in Nepal. Nepal was gearing to fight against the most talked about nation around the world media; Afghanistan. Stadium was packed beyond its capacity just like our micro buses during peak hours in the city. People, mostly students found places in top of the tress, roof of the nearby building and where ever a human eye could find an space inside the stadium people occupied it. The metal sheet that was erected around the compound as a fence was kicked down by the crowd to make space for them to sit on top of the compound. Crowd woul

I visited two finest places in Kathmandu valley for the first time this weekend. I always wanted to visit the Bhaktapur Durbar Square and Garden of Dreams (Kaiser Mahal), but... On Saturday, my newest tweepal Chiran on Twitter invited us to visit Bhaktapur, when we (I & Ananta ) were busy deciding the place to have coffee. And then we’d the unplanned coffee meet with Chiran there. I’m very thankful to him for guiding us all the way through the Bhaktapur Durbar Square. On Sunday, I’d no specific plans for the day. As soon as I left my flat, I planned to go to Pashupati and my luck, I was ended up in the Keshar Mahal (Kaiser Mahal) famously known as ‘The Garden of Dreams’. Well, that’s it. I had a great weekend. ;) Check out photos below. Bhaktapur Drubar Square: Garden of Dreams:

NASA released a photo of Mount Everest (8,848m Nepal) that was taken from space few days back. Sites including The Atlantic, Mashable etc carried that news saying, ‘Mount Everest Doesn’t Look That Big from Space’. Unfortunately they published the wrong photo of Mount Everest. And we all Tweeted and shared that photo on our networks believing that was Mount Everest. A senior journalist Kunda Dixit inspected that image and Tweeted “Sorry guys, but the tall peak with the shadow in the middle is not Mt Everest. My guess: Xixapangma in Tibet” . @ ujjwalacharya @ pc0101 Sorry guys, but the tall peak with the shadow in the middle is not Mt Everest. My guess: Xixapangma in Tibet — Kunda Dixit (@kundadixit) December 11, 2012 His tweet sparked the conversation on Twitter. I tried to look on Google Earth, but couldn’t locate the exact angle, but somehow I thought they’re similar (All Mountain looks similar to me :P). After some more discussion with Kunda Dixit , Ujjwal Acharya , Peter Ca

I posted some of the Graffiti artworks on my Instagram , that was taken near the Central Zoo in Jawalakhel. Some of the friends on Twitter suggested that these graffiti artworks might have done by the most prominent graffiti artist Banksy, a famous pseudo-anonymous British artist. According to Smashingmagazine, “His art has appeared in cities around the world; and his works focus on topics such as politics, culture, and ethics”. Once my friend had also said, he saw some foreigners doing graffiti art near the zoo. So, I thought they might be Banksy’s gang. But another sources told me, they’re not Banksy’s gang. Anonymous on Twitter said “It’s not Banksy. I remember someone telling that they are from NY. Banksy lives in London and can do better than those graffiti.” I’m not sure who did all those graffiti artworks, but they’re really nice, beautiful and meaningful. May be, it was done by Nepali Youth activists. :)
