Software Freedom Day (SFD) is being celebrated at Kathmandu University under the canopy of Kathmandu University Open Source Community (KUOSC) on Saturday, 18 th September 2010 . Software Freedom Day (SFD) is a global event to promote and foster Free and Open Source Software (FOSS) being celebrated on 3 rd Saturday of every September. It is being coordinated by Software Freedom International globally by providing support, giveaways and a point of collaboration; however volunteer teams around the world organize the local SFD events to impact their own communities. Software Freedom Day 2009 is inagurated by Honorable Minister Sankar Pokharel, in Yalamaya Kendra, PatanDhoka Lalitpur.
